Lake Wylie has grown fast enough in the last decade that York County put a temporary moratorium on new construction to let infrastructure catch up — a sign of just how much residential building has happened around the lake. Waterfront humidity and rapid new-home installs both shape our work here.
About Lake Wylie, SC
Lake Wylie is a census-designated place on a peninsula along the shore of the lake it’s named for, a reservoir named for Dr. W. Gil Wylie in 1960. The community grew from 8,841 residents in 2010 to 13,655 in 2020, as younger families were drawn by low tax rates and local schools. Growth strained local infrastructure enough that York County declared a moratorium on new construction to better plan the area’s development. An unusual quirk: a state-line resurvey shifted the North Carolina-South Carolina border about 150 feet, leaving some properties straddling the line.
HVAC Installation for New Lakeside Homes
With so much recent residential growth, a lot of our Lake Wylie calls are new-construction installs. We handle full AC installation and heat pump installation for newly built homes around the lake.
Humidity Control for Waterfront Properties
Homes on or near the water deal with more ambient moisture, which affects comfort and equipment longevity alike. Our humidity control solutions are a common addition for Lake Wylie properties.
